Madrajin's Two Trick Pony
An early alignment with New Jericho yields the technology we will use for the rest of the game. Gauss weapons have higher base damage with lower fire rates, this is better for penetrating the high armour of Arthrons. Later penetrating weapons become available and we will upgrade to those.
Once the required technology is acquired it is not necessary to maintain the diplomatic relationship with New Jericho.
Synedrion tech is good for shoring up the few weaknesses New Jericho have. Their mount technology can reduce poison damage, allow your squad to walk through goo and allow you to sense the presence of enemies even if you can't see them. Synedrion pistols are superior as a back up side arm for our snipers due to their range, large clip size and accuracy.
Assault Technician
New Jericho also provide access to the technician class, which thanks to turrets, is probably the highest damage dealing class in the game. As if that were not enough, they can heal, remove poison, repair limbs, repair tech and remove mindfraggers. Late in the game they can use Electric Reinforcement to increase the armour of all allies.
With four technicians in your active party you have the firepower of 12 guns and can vastly reduce incoming damage for at least 4 turns.
The only thing these guys can't do is fly and apply highly targeted damage for taking out specific limbs/equipment on targets; funny we should say that…
Heavy Sniper
This deadly combination needs no faction support but it excels with New Jericho's extra armour and penetrating weapons.
We have no use for heavy weapons here, the main use for taking the heavy class is to get jet packs. Rapidly redeploying snipers deal with specific threats efficiently. The extra survivability that comes from wearing heavy armour is also welcome. We will however stick to using sniper helmets so that our accuracy doesn't suffer too much. The Quick Aim ability is so useful for being able to shoot twice with a rifle that we use it all the time, the extra accuracy is just icing and means that even wearing heavy armour we hit our intended spot more often than not.
